Sister Benice Gall was born in Howells, Nebraska to Mary (Kluthe) and Joseph Gall. Sister Bernice had five brothers: Edward, Dennis, Leander, Leroy, and Joseph. She has three sisters: Alice Masters, Benilda Spenner, and Marie Koley.
Sister Bernice was received as a School Sister of St. Francis on June 13, 1956, made profession of first vows on June 21, 1958, and made final profession on June 20, 1964. She received a BS in Education in 1970 and a MS in Education in 1976.
Sister Bernice lived her religious ministry in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa. She came to Christ the King School in Des Moines, Iowa where she ministered as a reading resource teacher and English language learner the last year. She retired in 2013 but continued a ministry of prayer and presence serving as a lector, Eucharistic minister and religious educator for grade school students.
Sister Bernice was also a registered message therapist. She moved to New Cassel Retirement Center in 2016 and lived there until the time of her death.
