Sister De Lourdes Rechenmacher

Sister de Lourdes RechenmacherSister de Lourdes Rechenmacher was born in Naperville, Illinois.  She has a bachelor of science degree in education from Alverno College and a master’s degree from Marquette University.

In the Diocese of Joliet, Illinois, Sister served as a technical assistant at North Central College in Naperville (1975-1975), served as part-time coordinator at SS Peter and Paul Retirement Unit in Naperville (1975-1979), and was a caregiver for several elderly clients in Naperville (1990-1996).

In the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Sister taught at St. Catherine School in Milwaukee (1941-1944). She also served her congregation at St. Joseph Convent Motherhouse in Milwaukee as coordinator (1972-1973), receptionist (1996-2010), and in the community’s archives (2002-2010). 

In the Archdiocese of New York, Sister taught at St. Monica School in New York (1944-1956).

In the Archdiocese of Omaha, Sister taught at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Omaha (1956-1961).

In the Diocese of Rockford, Illinois, Sister ministered at St. Mary School in McHenry as a teacher (1961-1962 and 1965-67) and principal (1962-1965). She also taught at Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Aurora (1967-1972) and St. Edward School in Rockford (1979-1981), and served as religious education coordinator at St. Edward Parish (1981-1990).

Sister serves in the ministry of prayer and presence at Sacred Heart in Milwaukee.
