Direction and Philosophy

Congregational Direction 2014-2018

We commit ourselves to spiritual transformation to become more deeply united and more intercultural, in our congregation and in our mission. We reaffirm our witness as peacemakers, wherever we are. These commitments call us to constant personal, provincial and congregational conversion.

U.S. Province Response to the Congregational Direction 2015-2019

In the spirit of Mother Alexia, Mother Alfons and Sister Clara, our foundresses, we open our hearts to the needs of a fragile and broken world and are attentive to what God is asking of us today. "We commit ourselves to spiritual transformation to become more deeply united and more intercultural, in our congregation and in our mission...as peacemakers."

We call ourselves to daily spiritual transformation to become more accepting, compassionate and forgiving.

We claim our identity as prophets of hope, committing ourselves to nonviolent living and peace-filled interaction.

We nurture our relationships with others across cultures and religions; we join with them to raise a common voice for the good of all creation.

We strengthen our bonds with our sisters and associates in all provinces and explore together our diverse ways of understanding ourselves and our mission; we act together to build peace and justice globally.
