Become a Sister

Sister Carol with childrenHave you ever thought about working in a foreign country during or after college? Have you ever thought about being of service in various locations in our own United States? If so, you may want to acquaint yourself with our congregation, the School Sisters of St. Francis, an international community of Catholic sisters. We are interested in helping you realize your dream of caring and sharing.

As followers of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi, we are women of faith called and committed to helping build a more peaceful and just world by making a difference in the lives of others, especially the poor. As Franciscans, we are also called to care for Mother Earth and to foster respect for the integrity of all creation in new and creative ways.

We invite you to live out these Franciscan values—values needed in today’s world more than ever—by sharing your hopes, talents, skills, or profession with us as a School Sister of St. Francis, through Associate Relationship, or as a Tau Volunteer.

Catch the fire of Francis and Clare and share that spark of joy and love with us as we begin the journey of developing a new and exciting vision for religious life in the 21st century.
