In her Alfons Gallery exhibit featuring large-scale, contemporary paintings and mixed media works, Wisconsin artist Robin Jebavy explores our fragile and often precarious human condition through glassware imagery that enables her to ask questions about our intimate relationship with the external world.
Jebavy takes as her subject matter ordinary household objects: modest glass vessels. Her theme echoes the fragility and impermanence of life, with light and color-filled ephemera floating in space. Alfons Gallery Curator Valerie J. Christell says Jebavy’s mixed media works invite viewers to consider the individual fragments that make up our own fragile lives.
“Fragile Illusions: Fusing the Senses” will be on view through October 13, 2019.
The gallery is free and open to the public.
