Tau Volunteer Program
Tau Volunteer Program is a faith-based program for women, who live in community for 4-8 weeks and serve people in need. It is sponsored by the U.S. Province of the School Sisters of St. Francis (SSSF), an international religious congregation of more than 1,200 Franciscan sisters and associates. Founded in 1874, the School Sisters currently minister in 21 states in the U.S. and in four provinces in other parts of the world.

The purpose of the Tau Volunteer Program is to offer a transformative experience, usually four to twelve weeks long, for women who wish to be involved in the mission of the School Sisters of St. Francis by serving God's people, advancing the cause of peace and encouraging respect for the integrity of creation.

There are many opportunities for service at sites in Latino, African American, Appalachian, and northern urban communities where School Sisters minister as teachers, pastoral ministers, social service providers and health care providers. Tau Volunteers can offer invaluable support to SSSF ministries in under-resourced areas around the United States.

Tau Volunteers have opportunities to share meals, prayer, ministry and reflection with School Sisters and associates, and to create a network of relationships that may last a lifetime.
