Calling on the Spirit of God for guidance, the delegates sang “Open My Eyes and Ears, Lord” as they began the third day of listening and sharing.
The Provincial Team continued their report by further clarifying the “Community Engagement Process,” opening the dialog to table discussion and clarifying questions from the delegates.
Commitment to a Future
A DVD entitled, “A Future Full of Hope: Planning in Religious Institutions” was shown. Questions for dialog were given and during the refreshment break lively conversation took place. This DVD will be shown and the questions addressed in Area Community meetings.
Formation Plan
After viewing the Formation Plan the delegates were asked to write, as a table group, what they recommend for our ongoing formation.
The afternoon opened with the Provincial Team inviting the delegates to dialog with them on any concerns regarding their report thus far.
A brief update was given about Strategic Planning for Healthcare.
The delegates looked at the proposed amendment to the Corporation Bylaws. The Interim Corporate Members studied, made the changes and recommended to the voting delegates that they vote for the amendment that will clarify the membership and responsibilities of both the School Sisters of St. Francis Corporation and the bylaws of the Sponsored Ministries.
The Finance Committee and Treasurers’ Report
As part of the Provincial Team report the chairperson of the Finance Committee and the Treasurer presented the financial state of the Province and projections for the future – 2017. They did this by looking at what will happen if we keep the status quo and what will be the state of finances if we implement the strategic plan. At table discussions the delegates looked at concerns, hopes, and learnings, and recorded feedback for the Finance Committee.
Time was taken to evaluate the Provincial Team Report and the day ended with a prayer.
