Sister Therese Thoenen

S. Therese Thoenen
(Dolorene) celebrates 60 years as a School Sister of St. Francis. She was born in Frankenstein, Missouri. She has a bachelor’s degree from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (1954) and a master’s degree from Loyola University in Chicago (1980). Sister has lived her religious ministry as educator and administrator in Wisconsin and Illinois. In the Diocese of Joliet, Sister taught at St. Walter School in Roselle (1963-1965) and was principal there (1965-1983). She served as principal at St. Philip Apostle School in Addison (1983-1995). In the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Sister taught at St. John Nepomuk School in Racine (1954-1955) and St. Albert School in Milwaukee (1955-1963). She was on the leadership team of the U.S. Province of the School Sisters of St. Francis in Milwaukee (1995-2003). Sister has been coordinator of personal services at Sacred Heart Convent in Milwaukee (2003-present). Sister resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
