Associate Relationship

Associates join the School Sisters in a common commitment to the
Gospel and the mission of the Church by reaching out to others. They share their time and talents by collaborating with the sisters in ministry and prayer. Associates and sisters accompany each other in an ongoing faith experience that enriches their lives and the lives of people around the world. The aim of this relationship is to make Gospel living credible today.

Sisters and Associates            Associates are:

Christian women or men, single or married who:

            • Hunger for a deeper spirituality and relationship with God
            • Are inspired by the ideals of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi
            • Are drawn to the mission of the School Sisters of St. Francis
            • Find joy in giving of self to further Christ's mission in the world

"Each Associate has a formal relationship
with us...Through mutual
support, prayer and collaboration we and our Associates enable each other to
accomplish the mission which unites us."

Response in Faith: Rule of Life
of School Sisters of St. Francis

Initially associates were former School Sisters. Today they are a diverse group from many parts of the country. Associates are married couples, widows and widowers, retirees, single people and people from other religious denominations. They come from all walks of life and occupations.
