Associate Relationship
Meet Some Associates I find that my own spiritual growth is enhanced through helping to recruit new SSSF associates.
I share many of the same goals as the School Sisters and am blessed to have become an associate. My compassion has been heightened for the poor through my own background in the field of sociology. I share in the mission of the School Sisters as they serve the poor in the U.S. and as they advocate on behalf of people living along the U.S. – Mexico border. I am active in social concerns, including contacting my legislators on issues that impact poor people like immigration reform and minimum wage. Currently, I am a legislative advocate for AARP in the state of Arizona. I also assist with St. Vincent de Paul projects to help alleviate hunger and homelessness. I have helped with educational efforts for Southeast Asian refugees and am currently tutoring a Mexican immigrant. As an associate, I feel support for the outreach that I provide. I find that my own spiritual growth is enhanced through helping to recruit new SSSF associates. I am encouraging a woman to attend our meetings in the Phoenix area and consider this a joyful opportunity for outreach. My spiritual growth is also enhanced through retreats with sisters and associates from various regions of the United States.
