The School Sisters of St. Francis want to state clearly that our focus as a community is giving, healing and defending life. We uphold Catholic social teaching and the Church’s consistent ethic of life across the entire human life span – respecting and defending life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death.

We do not condone or support abortion. We adhere to the U.S. Catholic Bishops’ teaching that human life needs protection in all its phases.

We do believe that all means should be taken to prevent abortion – reaching out to women in need, counseling women about alternatives to abortion, and counteracting poverty and the evils that accompany it.
