Sister Mary at Project Reflect in TN

Ministry Fund - United States
In the United States Province, the Ministry Fund helps support specific projects of our sisters working in 18 states. Some examples include programs for women and children; programs related to literacy and health care; and anti-poverty initiatives in Kentucky, Mississippi, West Virginia and other areas.

Ministry Fund - Latin AmericaDonate now
Latin America represents a major missionary area for the School Sisters. We serve in Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Peru. The Ministry Fund helps support clinics, schools, and our orphanage in Guatemala called Hogares Santa Maria de Guadalupe. The orphanage cares for children who have been the victims of poverty, abuse and abandonment. Other mission work is dedicated to providing food, shelter, education and aid to people in need.

South India Srs. With ChildrenMinistry Fund - North and South India
Over 160 School Sisters serve in North India and South India. They provide services and care for people who are desperately poor. The Ministry Fund helps to support the schools, clinics, agricultural projects and other programs that our sisters operate in India.

Education and Religious Training Fund
The Education and Religious Training Fund is key to ensuring the continued growth of our community through new members. Our ability to provide outstanding educational opportunities to our sisters is critical as we plan the future of our congregation.

The fund provides professional and religious training to women aspiring to join us. This is especially important in developing countries where the leadership and professional skills of our sisters have a particularly profound impact. In countries that face devastating social and economic problems, School Sisters are often among the few professionals having extensive formal education. They share knowledge and use their skills to lead people toward greater self-determination and solutions to their problems.

Retirement Fund
The Retirement Fund ensures dignified and comfortable care and housing to the dedicated women of our community who have given their lives in service to the Church. Retired School Sisters in the United States live in retirement facilities at St. Joseph Convent and Sacred Heart Convent in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport, Wisconsin. In addition to these convents in Wisconsin, some retired sisters live at St. Priscilla Convent in Chicago, Illinois, and Our Lady of Lourdes Convent in Omaha, Nebraska, and in many smaller homes throughout the United States continuing their volunteer ministries to God’s people. Retired sisters also live in Honduras and Costa Rica.

Infrastructure Fund St. Joseph Center
The Infrastructure Fund will ensure that the School Sisters of St. Francis are prepared to meet future needs, including:

  • travel and meeting expenses of the Corporate Board in visiting the various provinces;
  • funding for leadership trainings for sisters from all provinces;
  • funding for delegates to attend international meetings;
  • funding for future operational costs.
