Water is Life

TreeAs the earth puts on its mantle of majestic greenery during these summer months, we give thanks for the warm rains that provide living water. The sound of rain falling on the ground brings to mind the promise of transformation, roots growing stronger, crops bearing fruit, refreshment, and hope for the future.

In much the same way, your generous financial support is life-giving, and affects real change in the lives of children, women and families around the world. In a sense, we encourage you to reflect on this question: “Which roots will you water?” We invite you to consider a gift that will bear the fruits of hope, peace and opportunity for the poor and underserved through our sisters’ ministries around the world. The Psalmist speaks of a tree planted by streams of water. This tree yields fruit in due season and its leaf does not wither.

With your support, our ministries, like that tree, will
receive the sustenance needed to strengthen their roots
and produce a canopy of hope and shade for the weary.

Your gift provides: daily meals for children in Latin America who learn and play without feeling hunger; opportunities for disabled girls and boys in India to reach their full potential; safe shelter for and pastoral care to immigrant families arriving in the United States. Your gift also supports medical, personal, and spiritual care for our retired sisters, who have served so faithfully over many decades.

May God, who is the source of all good things, bless you with many opportunities to find refreshment, joy and peace in these summer days.
