The Tau Volunteer Program offers a brief (4 to 12 weeks) transformative experience for women of faith who wish to be involved in the mission of the School Sisters of St. Francis (SSSF) by serving the poor in the U.S., advancing the causes of justice and peace and encouraging respect for the integrity of creation.

Tau Volunteers have an opportunity to:

  • share the ministry of SSSF with people in underserved communities within the U.S.
  • offer short-term, fulltime volunteer service using their best professional/personal gifts
  • share meals, prayer and reflection with sisters during their time of service
  • immerse themselves in the culture of “others” who may really be more like them than they expect
  • receive the rich rewards of service in God’s name

Tau Volunteer Program is a member of Catholic Volunteer Network

Tau Volunteer Interns

Tau Volunteer interns are students enrolled in colleges in Milwaukee who wish to spend a semester offering service to the people of God in area non-profit agencies associated with the School Sisters of St. Francis.  They develop personal and professional skills while mentoring with people who provide quality service within their communities.

Tau interns have an opportunity to:

  • share the ministry of SSSF with people in communities in the Milwaukee area
  • offer 10-12/week hours of volunteer service using their best professional/personal gifts
  • mentor with people who provide high quality educational or social service within Milwaukee
