Advisory Council for Sponsorship

Advisory Council

Since its formation in October 2006, representatives of some of the U.S. Province’s sponsored ministries have been meeting quarterly with the Sponsored Ministries Board. They have:

  • Chosen “Building on Our Franciscan Foundation” as the theme for an in-service  for boards and staffs of sponsored ministries.
  • Hosted a Dialogue II Day in April 2008 with Brother Bill Short, OFM, to explore what makes an organization Franciscan.
  • Identified a particular model of sponsorship which will ensure that School Sister values and legacy are passed on to the next generation of sponsors. The advantages and drawbacks of this model will be explored in greater detail in 2009.
